Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate the functional gain difference between short and long canal CIC. The difference in canal length is about 2-4 mm. In comparison long canal CIC with short canal CIC, no increment occurs at 0.5 kHz and contribution at 1-4 kHz is approximately 1-3 dB increment due to deep insertion. But there are variable functional gain differences in every frequency. In the t-test, significant difference was found in only 1 kHz. As a result, long canal hearing aid is not absolutely effective in high frequency emphasis but tendency for high frequency emphasis. Their effects are different in every persons. Feedback problem occurred in 3 long canal cases and 1 short canal hearing aid. Among 18cases, 12 persons wear a long canal hearing aid 6 persons short canal hearing aid.
